LODGE ST. PATRICK NO. 879Lodge Saint Patrick No. 879 now meets in Newtownards, Northern Ireland, but began in Belfast. It was also consecrated by Annie Besant at the Theosophical Rooms at May Street, Belfast on 6th of June 1927. Madge Sharp was the first Master. The lodge subsequently relocated several times, including a period at Rosemary Street Masonic Hall. Finally, they found a suitable large house in Dundela Street, off the Hollywood Road in Belfast, which they eventually purchased on the 8th of June 1957 as their Masonic Home . On 7th February 1984 they purchased 53 Corry Street in Newtownards, a Masonic Hall, previously owned by a masculine Masonic Order and St. Patrick has been there ever since. Despite the 2009 fire, Lodge St Patrick still possess their first set of minute books which are over 80 years old. |
