CO-FREEMASONRY IN BRITAIN

International Co-Freemasonry, Le Droit Humain was founded in France in 1893. The Order came to Britain in 1902, when the British Federation was founded. The Federation's 100th anniversary was celebrated in 2002.

The British Federation, as part of the International Order of Co-Freemasonry, Le Droit Humain, works the Antient and Accepted Scottish Rite in its Craft lodges, Sovereign Chapters (18°), Areopagus (30°), Consistory (31° and 32°) and Triangle of Sovereign Grand Inspectors General (33°). The allied degrees are Mark, Royal Ark Mariner, Excellent Master, Holy Royal Arch of Jerusalem and Knights Templar.

Each Federation of the Order is autonomous, within an international constitution.

The Order itself is governed by a Supreme Council.

Original letter from Marie Martin, to Annie Besant, authorising the founding of the British Federation.
