Special work: The lodge's name reflects its aspirations - do unto others as you would be done by - the golden rule of brotherhood. The founders intended the lodge to be of service to humanity.

Golden Rule Lodge espouses an esoteric heritage and explores the idea that modern freemasonry may be the heir to the Mystery Cults of the Ancient World, retaining those ancient teachings concerning the science of the soul, which it seeks to pass on to each new generation through ceremonial working.

Location: This lodge meets at Hexagon House, the Headquarters of the British Federation.

Meetings: Eight times a year minimum, on Saturday afternoons.

History: Lodge Golden Rule was founded on 4th September 1905, by Annie Besant, and, as its number suggests, is one of the oldest lodges in the British Federation. It went into abeyance for a while but was resuscitated on Saturday 18th October, 1980. The lodge has a distinguished history with many learned members in its early days, such as E.L. Gardner and Mr Arnold Banks. Its current membership comes from all walks of life and five countries.The lodge works the Verulam Ritual.
