Masonic principles encourage us to support those in circumstances less fortunate than our own; to support them through all types of difficulty, sometimes financial.
From earliest times Freemasonry has helped young and old, sick and poor and this care will continue into the future. Donations are made to national and local charities.
In particular, the fund-raising activities of the Order throughout the world are concentrated on a new charity, SPES
In addition, the Order also operates the Co-Masonic Benevolent Fund for the relief of sick and elderly brethren.
Individual masons have achieved national recognition for their charitable and philanthropic works - they are, however, in true masonic fashion, too modest to want to be mentioned here.
Collections for charitable causes are made at each lodge meeting.
