THE MOST PUISSANT GRAND COMMANDER

The head of the British Federation is The Most Puissant Grand Commander, Brian Roberts 33°, the Representative of the Supreme Council.

Brian was initiated in 1968. He was elected to his current post by the Supreme Council at the Order's international convention in 2002, following the retirement of his predecessor, Helen Boutall.

Brian is also a member of the Supreme Council's Permanent Commission and is Assistant Grand Secretary of the Order.

THE MOST PUISSANT GRAND COMMANDER of HONOUR

The former Head of the Federation is Helen Boutall 33°, having retired from that position in 2002 after 14 years in office.

During the war, Helen served in the Wrens and was initiated in 1946 at the age of 21. Helen has ruled every degree worked in the British Federation. She was Grand Secretary for several years prior to her appointment in 1988 as Most Puissant Grand Commander. Helen is also, unusually, a member of the Worshipful Company of Stationers - one of the oldest City of London trade guilds.

In 2003, the Grand Council of the Ordre Maconnique de la Fayette awarded Helen a medal in recognition of her masonic merit and special contribution to International Co-Freemasonry. The presentation took place in Lyons at a special ceremony to mark 275 years of freemasonry in France.
